The hearth is necessary for warmth, light and sustenance as well as a symbol of continuity. The fire drawings created from a lit hearth are part of a continuing conversation between ourselves and our environment. The burning coals and ash from the family hearth are used as a way of describing our passage through space and fixing our brief existence; this work reflects on the connections within the everyday.
